At Whiskey Cove, we ask guests to leave our family lake home in good order by following these check out steps.

CHECK OUT: 10 a.m. CT

If you need flexibility with your check out time, please let us know in advance so we can do our best to accommodate.


  1. Trash: Collect trash in bags from all rooms and place bags in the trash shed. We do not have recycling service at the lake, so all trash can be consolidated, or if you prefer, take recyclable items home with you.
  2. Linens: Strip beds that have been slept in, leaving dirty sheets in piles on the beds they were removed from. Place dirty towels in the laundry room.
  3. Dishes: Place dirty dishes in the dishwasher and start a cleaning cycle. If you have leftovers, please take them home in your own containers.
  4. Thermostat: In the warmer months, set the AC/Cool to 75 degrees before leaving. In the cooler months, set the Heat to 65 degrees at check out. If you turned the fireplace on, turn it back to Pilot upon check out. Directions are on the fireplace remote downstairs.


  1. Grill: Clean and cover the grill if you used it. Cleaning tools are on the rack in the upstairs laundry room, across from the washer and dryer.
  2. Water toys: Return all water toys (kayaks, Lily Pad, floats) to their original location on the dock and secure them as you found them upon check-in.


Lock all doors and windows, and text us to let us know you’ve left. If you noticed anything needing attention during your stay, please let us know at check out as well.
